Making a New Path Here As I Have Done in My Life
Recently my life has been drastically changed (by my own choices; not to worry, I haven't been forced into anything bad) and I've found myself in Yorkshire. A new land, a new space, a new beginning. I've cast off a lot of the mental burden I'd carried around with me for years in terms of my past. It didn't give me joy and it wasn't useful, so into my rear-view it went. This has given me a new outlook on my purpose.
I've been doing my creative activities more than ever since being here, as I've been given the grace of time to focus and space to breathe. This has allowed me to read more books than I've ever done in the past; just this past week, I've read 7 books. That's one book a day. I'm a quick reader, I suppose.
One thing I'd like to begin doing is keep a review of the books I've read and go through the story with you, my reader(s), and point out parts of the narrative I find interesting or comment on aspects of the prose. I would like to go through chapter by chapter, but this may result in too many posts per day, so I will have to find a posting schedule that works around me. I would go into books that I've read during the last couple of months but there are that many that it would take far too much time diving into them again just for postings sake, so new novels it is!
So anyway, there you go! My little announcement post about what my blog will be about going forward. I would've done this solely on Instagram or TikTok (which I still will post from in addition to here) but I've found far too many things wrong with trying to share creativity or an actual thought on social media; things get lost in the fuzz of drama, aggression and opinions in which everything becomes blurred. I'd like to encourage a safe space to discuss and recommend good books.
I hope that whoever is reading this is ready for my first book on this blog, soon to come: The Serial Killer's Wife by Alice Hunter. Keep checking into this space, I'm so excited! 😀
